Online Services for Patients
Online services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day of the year, so it can often be easier and more convenient than a phone call or making a journey to the practice.
NHS login makes it easier and quicker for you to securely access digital health and care services with one username and password. The first time you set up your NHS login, you will need to prove who you are. This is so you can be connected to your NHS record with the surgery, and protect your health information.
When you have proved who you are, you will be able to use your NHS login to access websites and apps wherever you see 'NHS login'. This includes the NHS App, aswell as other online service providers. For more information about NHS login and to create an account, please click here.
A list of online health service providers and apps, including providers that let you register using NHS login, can be found here.
More information about online services can be found on the NHS website.

Why you should register for online services:
- It is more convenient for you; online services are available 24/7, so you don't need to wait until the surgery is open.
- Save yourself a phone call; logging online to book an appointment takes just a minute.
- It is easier to order your repeat prescription; you don't need to journey to the practice, you can see which repeat prescription(s) you take and only order the ones you need.
- You can update your telephone number and email address, to make sure we have the correct information for you. Changes of address or name will need to be completed at surgery reception.
- Online services are only available for patients aged 16 years and over.
- No shared email addresses can be used; everyone using online services will need their own email address. This is because email addresses are a unique identifier for each account.
- We do not offer the ability to message the surgery via online services, as this can be done using an online consultation.
- Only repeat prescriptions can be ordered online, not acute items. New medication may not immediatly be put on repeat.
- All prospective medical records will be available to view online. If you already have access to online services, all records from 1st March 2023 onwards (or from the date you inquire if you cannot already see your records) will be available to view. If you do not want access to your medical records online, please let the surgery know.
- Access to historic medical records is not currently available online. There are plans to allow patients to have full historic access to their records, but the timeframe for the implementation has yet to be agreed. If you would like access to historic medical records before they are available online, please complete a Subject Access Request form. More information is available here.
- The MyChart app and website lets you securely access parts of your hospital health records, giving you more control over your care. MyChart is part of the Epic electronic patient record system, and is for your healthcare with hospitals and community services. Please visit mychart.org for more information. We do not use MyChart in the GP practice, so we are unable to assist with any queries or issues with the MyChart app.
Please Note: The ability to book appointments online is currently unavailable.
NHS App
If you’re a patient at our practice you can now use the new NHS App, a simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services on your smartphone, tablet, laptop or computer.
It is free to use and available for android and iPhone. You can also access NHS App services from the browser on your desktop or laptop computer.
An NHS login account will allow you to use the NHS App to check your symptoms, book appointments, order repeat prescriptions and more. You can also use the e-Referral Service in the NHS App to book, view, or cancel your referral appointments.
You can register, verify your identity, and access these features all within the app, without having to contact the surgery.
For more information, please go to nhs.uk/app.
If you are already using the NHS App and need help or support, or are unable to login, please click here.

Other Providers
If you decide to use an online services provider which doesn't allow you to use the NHS login to verify your identity, you will need to request the following registration details from us, to link your online services account to the surgery (sometimes known as 'registering with a letter');
- Practice ODS Code
- Account ID
- Account Linkage Key
To access your registration details, you will need to complete a registration form and provide photo ID (e.g. passport, driving licence). The registration form can be downloaded here. Please complete the form and bring it to the surgery with your photo ID, and hand into reception.
Once you have completed the form and we have actioned it at the practice, you will need to complete your registration online by following the information that is emailed to you.
Some providers will allow you to create an account without registration details from the surgery or without an NHS login, but you will have minimal access to online services.
If you are have registered in this way with Patient Access and need help or support, or are unable to login, please click here for assistance. You can also contact Patient Access Technical Support by clicking here.
Patient Services (patient-services.co.uk) is no longer in use for our patients, due to a change in our clinical system.
