Non-NHS Services
The surgery can undertake certain medicals, complete forms, and write letters, as part of non-NHS services, for which a charge will be made.
Examples of non-NHS work includes insurance forms, black cab medicals, DVLA or TFL medicals, firearms certificates, travel letters/documents, benefit claiming, private healthcare forms, and letters/health questionnaires for schools and workplaces.
If you have a form that requires a GP to complete or sign, please leave it with reception, alongside a cover letter with your details and what you are requesting. It will be passed to our admin team who will be able to inform you if it can be completed, and the fee if so. We also have a letterbox if you would like to leave it when the surgery is closed.
If you would like to request a letter, or inquire if another non-NHS service is available in surgery, please submit an accurx patient triage with the details, and the admin team will advise if it can be completed.
Not all requests will be able to be completed by the surgery. We are unable to;
- complete letters or certificates for seat belt exemption, or to say someone is fit to drive
- witness or countersign power of attorney application forms
- write jury service exemption letters; patients can request a copy of their medical records if required
- sign forms or write letters to say a patient is fit to complete a sky dive, scuba dive, run a marathon or complete in any extreme sports; patients will be required to see a specialist clinician privately for this
Due to the high demand for non-NHS services to be completed, please note that requests may take up to 28 days to complete.
Standard letters may take up to 7 days, and complex letters may take up to 21 days.
You do not need to chase up the status of your request, as we will let you know once it has been completed. You may also be able to see updates on the NHS App.
Please note: the surgery can currently only accept cash or cheque payments at reception. Please contact our admin team if you would like our details to complete a bank transfer. We will require pre-payment before actioning your request. We will advise of the fee upon receiving your request.
Although this is a paid for service, the Doctors will not be able to prioritise your request ahead of running appointment clinics or dealing with medical queries. Non-NHS work will take place outside of standard General Practice work.
